We use Schedule-Your-Life (SYL) online scheduling software to assist
you when you are ready for the Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) driving lessons.

Username: Student’s first and last
initial followed by the last four digits of their permit.
Password: Student’s last name. Password
and username are all lowercase.
Note: Software performs best using the Mozilla Firefox browser.
Step 1: Login using the user name and password assigned to your student.

Step 2: Click on the “MyCal” tab and click on any day to see available lessons.

Step 3: Select the date and time you wish to drive and click the green “schedule” button
to confirm your Behind-the-Wheel lesson.

Behind the wheel lessons are given in two hour sessions following the guidelines set by the ODOT. ODEC provides
vehicles equipped with instructor brake and mirrors. One hour is spent driving. The other hour is spent observing.
All vehicles are four-door with automatic transmissions and A/C. Lessons may begin at any one of our many locations.
***Note: Student must have permit in their possession and be properly dressed for their
BTWs (NO FLIP FLOPS)
Below you will find the answers to the most common questions from our clients.
Question: What is the scheduling process for “Behind-the-Wheel” (BTW) lessons?
You schedule your own lessons on-line on the dates, times, and
locations that work best for you. Begin the scheduling process by visiting our website
CURRENT STUDENT
page. On the left side of the page, click on “Schedule BTW Lessons”. The scheduling software
page will pop up. Login using your assigned username and password and complete the electronic contract to
continue scheduling.
Question:When can I start scheduling my behind-the-wheel lessons?
- Your first behind-the-wheel lesson needs to take place after the first
day of class.
Question: Is there paperwork to complete?
- No! All the paperwork was completed in your enrollment. You just log on
and schedule.
Question: May I schedule more than one lesson a week?
- Due to high volume of enrollments, students are only allowed to schedule one lesson a week.
Question: When should I log-on to schedule my driving lesson?
- BTW availability is open through June 12, 2010
Question: Why can’t I see lessons?
- There are many possible reasons why you may not see lessons:
- In the top right corner of the scheduling home page, titled “Business”, please
make sure Oregon Driver Education Center is selected. You may do this by using the
drop-down feature of this field.
- All lessons in your area have been taken.
- Lessons are not available in your area that date.
Note: To see more lesson options you can
change the location in the drop down box in the upper right corner.
Question: Do I have the ability to monitor the progress of my teen’s driving lessons?
- Yes, you may monitor the progress of your student by logging into the scheduling software. Place your
cursor over the “Account” tab and select the “Grades” link below it. You will then be
able to read any comments an instructor made regarding the lesson as well as view the grades.
Question: How may I change the information in my profile?
- Log into your account, place your cursor over the “Account” tab, and select the “Modify”
link below it. Change the information in the desired fields and click the “Update” button.
Question: Can I receive reminder notifications of my teen’s driving lessons?
- Yes you can. Log into your account, place your cursor over the “Account” tab and select
the “Modify” link below it. In the section titled “Notification Options”, you may
choose to receive notifications 5 minutes to 24 hours prior to lesson. You may even choose how you would like
the notification: e-mail, text message or both!
